My Notifications

Read your alerts, check whether an email or SMS actually went out, and control which notification types land in your inbox or your email — all from one page.

Who can use it — Anyone with "manage my notifications" permission, which is included in basic profile access for virtually every role. See Roles & Permissions for how access is set.

Where to find itMy Workspace → My Notifications in the sidebar. A red badge on the nav item shows your unread count.

How to use it

The page has four tabs: Inbox, Archived, Delivery Log, and Settings.

Inbox

Your in-app notifications, newest first, refreshed automatically every 30 seconds.

  • Category pills along the top — All, Allocation, Compliance, Fleet, HR, Broadcasts, Other — filter the list and show a count for each. A second toggle switches between All / Unread / Read.
  • Each row shows an icon for its category, the notification title (bold if unread), a short preview, and a smart date. A blue dot marks unread items.
  • Some rows carry a quick action button straight on the row — for example Open shift on an allocation notice, Start training, Review, Acknowledge, Open review, or View SDS — so you can jump straight to what needs doing.
  • Click a row (View) to open the full notification in a modal — for broadcasts this shows the rich-text message and any attachments; for other types it shows the full details and, where relevant, a link to open the related record. Opening it marks it as read.
  • Archive removes a notification from the Inbox into the Archived tab. You can select multiple rows and use the bulk Mark Read or Archive actions.
  • Mark All Read (top of the table) asks for confirmation, tells you how many notifications will be affected, and — after you confirm — gives you a few seconds to Undo from the success toast.

Archived

Notifications you've archived. Each row (or a bulk selection) has an Unarchive action to restore it to your Inbox.

Delivery Log

The record of what was actually sent to you by Email or SMS (in-app notifications aren't shown here — that's the Inbox). Columns: Type, Channel, Destination, Status (Queued, Sent, Delivered, or Failed — hover a Failed badge to see why), and Sent At. Filter by Channel or Status.

Settings

This is where you choose which notification types reach you and how:

  • A "How channels work" panel explains the four channels: In-App is always on and always available here; Email you control yourself, per notification type; Push follows your in-app setting automatically on any device where you've enabled push; SMS is assigned by your workspace admin only — you can't turn it on or off yourself here.
  • Push notifications on this device — a toggle button to enable or disable push notifications on the browser/device you're currently using.
  • Below that, your notification types are grouped into sections by category (e.g. Fleet, HR, Compliance), each with a summary like "Email on for 2 of 4". Only categories relevant to your permissions appear — Fleet, HR, and Compliance sections only show if you have the matching view/manage permission elsewhere in the app.
  • Each row shows the notification's name and description, an In-App · Always on badge, and — where that notification type allows it — an Email checkbox you can tick or untick. Not every type supports Email; some are in-app only.
  • Show technical names (top right of the form) swaps the plain-English description for the underlying policy key and lists the technical event triggers grouped under it — useful if you're troubleshooting with support, not needed day to day.
  • Click Save Preferences to apply your changes. The confirmation toast summarises exactly what changed (e.g. "Email enabled for Shift Report Published and Toolbox Talk Assigned").

If your workspace recently consolidated its notification settings, you may see a one-time banner at the top of Settings explaining that some old preferences were merged and defaulted to off — review your settings and dismiss it with Got it.

Note there's also a master Email notifications / SMS notifications switch on My Profile's Notifications tab. That's a top-level on/off for the channel itself; the per-type Email checkboxes here decide which notifications use it.

Connected pages

  • My Profile — has the master Email/SMS on-off switch and its own push-notification control, separate from the per-type settings here.
  • Notification Manager — the workspace-wide admin configuration (which notification types exist, which roles/contacts get them, and SMS assignment). This page only controls your own preferences and inbox.
  • Broadcasts — manager-composed messages that arrive here as notifications.
  • Dashboard — your workspace home, one click from the sidebar.

Tips & common mistakes

  • Turning off Email for a notification type doesn't stop it appearing in your Inbox — In-App delivery is always on and can't be disabled here.
  • Ticked Email for a notification type but nothing arrives? Check the master Email notifications switch on My Profile — if that's off, no emails go out regardless of what's set here.
  • Can't find SMS as an option next to a notification type? It's not a personal setting — SMS is assigned per notification type by your workspace admin.
  • Archived notifications aren't deleted — they're just out of your Inbox. Use Unarchive on the Archived tab to get one back.
