Log the current odometer reading on the vehicle allocated to you. It's a quick weekly check-in that keeps your workspace's servicing predictions accurate for vehicles that don't get a daily prestart.
Who can use it — There's no special permission. What matters is whether a vehicle is currently allocated to you. If none is, you won't see any of this. See Roles & Permissions for how access generally works.
Where to find it — My Vehicle doesn't have its own sidebar entry. It appears in two places once a vehicle is allocated to you:
- The Today card on your Dashboard. It lists each vehicle with its last reading and a button. The button says Log odometer when a reading is due and Update when it isn't. Open My Vehicle takes you to the full list.
- My Workspace → My Work Log → My Vehicle. A tab at the end of My Work Log. It carries a badge when a reading is due.
How to use it
- Find the vehicle on the Today card or the My Vehicle tab, which shows its Vehicle number, Make / Model, current Odometer (km) and Last reading.
- Select Log odometer. A panel slides in from the side, showing when the vehicle was last read.
- Enter the Current odometer (km) in whole kilometres and, if you like, a short note.
- Select Save reading. The vehicle's odometer and last reading date update straight away.
The reading can't be lower than what's already recorded for the vehicle. If you enter a lower number, the reading isn't accepted and a message tells you why.
Reminders and escalation
- SubGrade checks once a week. If a vehicle allocated to you has had no reading from any source in the last 7 days, you get a reminder in My Notifications, and as a push notification if you've turned push on for your device.
- If a vehicle goes 21 days with no reading, it can be escalated as a servicing blind spot. This alert only goes to people your workspace has subscribed to it in Notification Manager. Nobody is subscribed by default.

Tips & common mistakes
- Vehicle not showing up? It needs a current allocation to you. Check with whoever manages the Allocation Manager.
- Reading rejected? It can't go backwards. Check you haven't re-entered an old figure or swapped digits.
- Doing daily prestarts on the vehicle already? You don't need to double up. A prestart reading keeps the vehicle fresh, so the weekly reminder won't fire.
